Why give?
In Malachi 3:10, God tells us to test Him; it's the only place in the Bible that we are told to test God:
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the Lord of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!"
Faith Dialogue was instrumental in developing the 310 Challenge Life.Church, NewSpring Church, Christ Fellowship and other large churches have utilized a similar challenge based on the same verse, Malachi 3:10 and have asked their partners to challenge or actually test God for three months and begin to tithe to their local church a full 10% of their income (ie 3-10)
